Maple Chili Glazed Cedar Plank Salmon

With comforting maple syrup and bold spices, including chili powder and paprika, this grilled salmon will convert your entire household to seafood enthusiasts – if they aren’t already!

Ingredients

  • 1 cedar grilling plank
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 16 ounces salmon fillet, rinsed and dried
  • 2 teaspoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Private Selection™ 100% Pure Grade A Amber Color Maple Syrup, divided
  • 3/4 cup green onion, chopped

Directions

  • Fill large stockpot with water. Place cedar plank inside, weighing down with something heavy to keep submerged. Soak at least 1 hour.
  • Preheat grill to high. In a small bowl, combine cumin, chili powder, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper.
  • Place salmon skin-side down on cedar plank. Drizzle with olive oil and liberally coat with spice rub. Drizzle 1 tablespoon maple syrup overtop and place cedar plank on grill. Reduce heat to medium. Grill, covered, 20-30 minutes until salmon is cooked through to a safe internal temperature of 145°F.
  • To serve, drizzle remaining 1 tablespoon maple syrup over salmon and garnish with green onion. Refrigerate any leftovers.
