Week 2: Egg Carton Floral Wreath

Upcycle used egg cartons into a pretty wreath with flowers that will never wilt!

What You'll Need:

  • Scissors
  • Paper plate
  • 2 egg cartons
  • Craft paint in several colors
  • Paintbrushes
  • Hot glue gun or craft glue

What You'll Need:

  • Scissors
  • Paper plate
  • 2 egg cartons
  • Craft paint in several colors
  • Paintbrushes
  • Hot glue gun or craft glue

What You'll Do:

cut through the middle of a paper plate
paint the cut-out shapes
adhere the painted flowers and leaves

1. Adults: Use sharp scissors to cut through the middle of a paper plate. Cut out the middle of the plate, leaving an outside ring about 2½ inches wide.

2. Kids or Adults: Fill the cups of one egg carton with different colors of paint.

3. Kids or Adults: Again depending on age and comfort with scissors, either kids or adults can cut out flower and leaf shapes from the second egg carton.

4. Kids: Paint the cut-out shapes to look like flowers and leaves. Allow to dry.

5. Kids or Adults: If working with a glue gun, adults should adhere the painted flowers and leaves to the paper-plate ring — or closely supervise older kids. If using regular craft glue, kids of all ages can participate. If using regular craft glue, allow the paper-plate ring to dry laying flat for a few hours.
