Spiral-grilled Hot Dogs

The spiral cut of these hot dogs increases the surface area in contact with the grill, resulting in more flavor. Plus, the spiral cut helps to keep toppings in place once the hot dogs are ready to eat.

Serves: 6

  • 1 package (10 oz.) Simple Truth™ Uncured Beef Hot Dogs
  • 6 hot dog buns
  • Desired toppings

  • Insert a skewer lengthwise through the center of each hot dog.
  • Starting at one end, use a paring knife to cut into each hot dog at a slight angle. Leave the knife in the hot dog, then turn the hot dog while continuing to cut along its length in a spiral pattern.
  • Remove skewers. Place hot dogs on the grill. Cook 7-10 minutes until hot and lightly charred in spots.
  • Serve hot dogs in buns with desired toppings.
  • Refrigerate leftovers.
  • Tip: Inserting the skewer into the hot dog will prevent accidentally cutting all the way through. Since the hot dogs are not cooked with the skewer, a single skewer can be used to prepare all the hot dogs.
